Mum asked me to consider the values of having a job to do, regardless of the stress it can cause. I think she is feeling a bit better about the whole concept today. She even came home early and just relaxed with me instead of acting all jittery like she has for the past couple weeks.
Mum says having a job to do can give one a sense of purpose, and the pay helps to keep the supply of liver treats going.
It made me wonder, do I have a job, a purpose in life?

Clik here to view. There are the healing Pug snuggles, but that’s not enough. And then I realized, I have a life-long career as a Lap-Magnet. When any of the humans sit down, it’s my job to lay on their lap and keep them still and relaxed. This is a job I take very seriously and I think I’m pretty good at it too, if I do say so myself. And the pay? More snuggles and a warm, comfortable lap to sleep on.
I’ve been training Timmy in the art as well. He caught on pretty quick, I’m quite proud of my young protegé.
Sometimes Timmy and I will do our Lap-Magnet duties together. The humans call this getting Pugged. It seems to be the great excuse for staying on the couch rather than doing chores. They even made a bit of a song about it.
I was gonna make the din, but then I got Pugged
I was gonna get up and chop the veg, but then I got Pugged
Now my tummy’s rumbling and it’s because……
Because I got Pugged, because I got Pugged, because I got Pugged
There is a chance the melody and lyric ideas may have borrowed from some preexisting song.
